Strengthening the Ummah through the blessed bond of Nikah.

Nikkah (Islamic Marriage) at Wimbledon Mosque

Marriage (Nikkah) in Islam is a sacred contract between a bride and groom, signifying their commitment to each other in accordance with Islamic principles. At Wimbledon Mosque, we provide a Nikkah service to facilitate and solemnize Islamic marriages, ensuring that couples begin their journey with faith and guidance.

Our Nikkah service is a free offering for residents of Merton and Wandsworth, subject to the availability of the Imams. We encourage all couples to undertake a legal civil marriage separately, as an Islamic Nikkah alone is not legally recognised under UK law.

How to Apply for Nikkah at Wimbledon Mosque

1. Download and complete the Nikkah form

You can obtain the form from our website or collect a physical copy from the mosque.

2. Submit the form

Send the completed form via email to marriage@wimbledonmosque.org

Alternatively, you may hand the form to an Imam at the mosque for processing.

3. Wait for confirmation

Do not finalize your Nikkah date until you receive written confirmation from the mosque.

4. Attend your scheduled Nikkah ceremony

Ensure that all necessary documents and witnesses are present on the day of the Nikkah.

Important Note:
Before making any arrangements, please wait for official confirmation from the mosque regarding your Nikkah request. Failure to do so may result in scheduling conflicts or cancellation.
